North Yorks Ultra Challenge

The North Yorks Ultra Challenge takes place on 26-27 June 2027 with Scarborough as the event basecamp. Participants may walk, jog, or run across coastal and moorland terrain with multiple distance options.

The main route circles Scarborough and its beaches, then follows the Cleveland Way north along the coastline through Robin Hood Bay to Whitby, where the 50 km stop and a main basecamp sit by the Abbey. Full 100 km challengers continue inland along the Esk Valley, then head south into moorland, through Moors Park Forest and onto the Tabular Hills Walk back to Scarborough.

Event services include covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km with major stops at about 25, 50, 75 and 100 km, regular snacks and meals, hot and cold drinks, toilet and changing facilities, medical and massage support, and baggage pick up. The route is signed and has GPS tracking via an event app; a timing system scans progress at rest stops. Camping packages are offered at the base camp with hot showers and chill areas. Additional logistics include shuttle buses to nearby stations, parking, and post-finish items such as a finisher T-shirt, medal, photo finish and a finishers meal.
