North Sun Ultra 2026

The North Sun Ultra takes place in the Edmonton River Valley, utilizing the city's extensive network of single track trails. The course connects various iconic trail sections, stretching from the east side trails in Goldbar through to Terwillegar. The finish line is located in the center of downtown Edmonton.

The event offers two main distances for participants:

  • 50 km
  • 30 km

The event is based at Emily Murphy Park and functions as a fundraiser for local charitable causes. Specifically, the race supports the Edmonton Mountain Bike Alliance (EMBA), a non-profit organization dedicated to trail maintenance and advocacy within the Greater Edmonton area.

Regarding event policies, participants may choose to move down in distance until June 7th, though moving up to a longer distance is not permitted. The organizers offer a 50% refund policy up until a specific cutoff date. Entries are non-transferable, and the selling of bibs to other runners is prohibited. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
