North Sun Ultra - Trail running in Edmonton

North Sun Ultra takes place on June 13, 2026, in Edmonton, AB. The event runs entirely on Edmonton's River Valley single track network and offers two main race distances.

The course mixes technical sections and runnable stretches. The first 30 km include rooty technical terrain and steep climbs and descents. The final 20 km is more runnable. The route is well flagged and aid stations are placed every 10 km. A rain route is available and organizers will communicate any special weather plans if needed.

The event is organized by North Sun Ultra Running Association, a non-for-profit group. Net proceeds are directed to community organizations in Edmonton. Volunteers support the event and receive unique t-shirts and swag, and are invited to a season end volunteer appreciation party.
