Event details

The North Fork 50 Mile/50K takes place in Buffalo Creek, Colorado, on Saturday, May 30, 2026. Distances offered:

  • 50 Mile
  • 50K (31.1 Miles)

The 50K is a single-loop course. A portion of race proceeds supports the North Fork Volunteer Fire Department. The event provides post-race food and drinks and a commemorative award for all finishers. Special awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers in each distance.

Course and logistics

Both courses are 100% soft surface, primarily singletrack with a few short sections of double track. The route passes through ponderosa pine forest, exposed granite rock formations, and open burn areas from the 1996 Buffalo Creek fire. Key aid stations along the routes include Colorado Trail, Shinglemill, Tramway, Buffalo, Rolling Creek, Homestead, and the Finish; station services vary by location and may include hydration, food, restrooms, crew access, and drop-bag support. The start and finish are at Buffalo Creek Clubhouse, 18050 S Buffalo Creek Rd, Buffalo Creek, CO. Course markings use orange and black polka-dot ribbons and orange pin flags; blue-and-white checkered ribbons mark wrong-way locations.
