Noquemanon Ski Marathon

The Noquemanon Ski Marathon is organized by the Noquemanon Trail Network, a nonprofit that develops and maintains non-motorized trails in Michigan’s central Upper Peninsula. The event is scheduled for January 23 and 24, 2026. Race timing is provided by Superior Timing.

Distances offered include:

  • 50K (Full Noque)
  • 24K (Half Noque)
  • 12K
  • 15 mile Snowshoe
  • Virtual Noque (50K and 24K options)
  • Adaptive/Sit Ski 3K and 1K
  • Junior Noque (youth event)

Race logistics and rules

Registration is handled online and entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. A youth discount of $25 applies to participants ages 24 and under. Adaptive and Junior Noque entries are free. A virtual option is available for the 50K and 24K during a stated virtual window; virtual participants receive a mailed bib and hat, are counted as completed entries, but are not eligible for age-group or overall awards and will not affect future wave placement.

Packet pick-up and check-in occur at the NMU Superior Dome; the Rundman-Jacobson Junior Noquemanon check-in is at Al Quaal Recreation Area. Busing is provided between the Superior Dome and start lines, and busing to the 24K start is mandatory due to limited parking. Aid stations with water and nutrition are located along the course at multiple marked points. Fluorinated wax is permitted but discouraged; its use is prohibited inside the Forestville Trailhead building. Course safety measures include on-course medical and rescue personnel and specific course access rules for private land sections. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
