Marquette Trail 50 - Marquette, Michigan
The Marquette Trail 50 is an ultramarathon race weekend held August 14 and 15, 2026 at the Noquemanon Trail Network Forestville Trailhead near Marquette, Michigan. The event includes a kids one mile trail race and two main distance events over single-track trails.
The weekend features these distances:
- 50K
- 50M
- 1 Mile (kids)
The course climbs four named peaks: Sugarloaf, Top-of-the-World, Bareback, and Hogback. Many sections offer views of Lake Superior and some parts run along the shoreline. Much of the route is moderate to difficult terrain with technical sections, substantial rocks, roots, and ruts; Ultrarunning Magazine rates the course 3 out of 5 for terrain and 4 out of 5 for surface.
Race capacity limits are stated for the 50K and 50M, registration opens on November 28, 2025 and closes August 7, 2026 or when capacity is reached. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable; a waitlist will not be maintained for 2026. Parking at the Forestville trailhead is limited and preference is given to carpooling racers.
Aid stations are stocked with water, sports drink, soda, gels, fruit, cookies, PBJ sandwiches, pretzels, potato chips, granola bars, and candy. This is a cupless event so participants must carry a bottle, cup, or hydration system. Volunteer incentives include apparel and complimentary future entry for a full day of service.
