The New Hope Turkey Trot is the inaugural trail running event organized by New Hope Christian School in Smithville, Missouri. The event is a fundraiser; all proceeds go to the New Hope Scholarship Fund to help families with demonstrated financial need. The event location is 1601 DD Highway, Smithville, MO 64089.

Course and logistics

The event is self-timed. All participants receive a t-shirt and a finisher's medal; registration by November 21, 2025 guarantees a t-shirt. Children aged 5 and under may participate for free. Additional apparel (extra t-shirts, long sleeves, hoodies) can be ordered for pickup on race day or at the school the following week.

The course begins on the former Julia Bargman Memorial Cross Country course and runs along a tree line with several "Nature Knowledge" stations. The full 5k continues through a seasonal campground on asphalt, crosses a spillway, and moves onto gravel and dirt trails around Lake Remote. Runners may encounter tree roots, rocks, uneven terrain, a significant uphill section followed by a technical descent, and a stretch along the Little Platte river bank.
