Nene Valley Trail Run
The Nene Valley Trail Run offers off-road races through the Northamptonshire countryside. Based at Castle Farm Campsite in Fotheringhay, near Peterborough, the event features routes that traverse green fields, ancient bluebell woodlands, and quiet villages. Runners travel along riverbanks and disused railway tracks on a course composed of tracks and paths.
Participants can choose from two race distances:
- 10 miles
- 20 miles
The courses are fully marked and marshalled to assist with navigation. Aid stations are situated along the routes to provide support. In an effort to maintain an eco-friendly event, these stations are cup-less, and participants are required to bring their own bottles or reusable cups. A portion of every entry fee is donated to Kings Cliffe Active, a local charity that promotes health and fitness.
The event site includes access to clean portaloos, though no shower facilities are provided on-site. Participants have the option to book camping at the race venue for Friday and Saturday nights. When entering, participants can choose between receiving a race T-shirt or opting for a tree-planting donation through Trees not Tees. Transfers are permitted via the entry system if a participant is unable to attend, as refunds are not typically issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
