Castle Bytham 5K Trail Run

The Castle Bytham 5K is an off-road trail run held as part of the Castle Bytham Midsummer Festival on 20 Jun 2026. The course covers roughly 5 kilometres through the open Lincolnshire countryside around Castle Bytham, following grassy trails and farm tracks. Marshals are stationed on the route and parts of the course use private land with permission from local landowners.

The route is across uneven terrain and is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Some sections are only accessible during the event. Organisers invite queries about accessibility in advance.

Well-behaved dogs are permitted on the course if kept on a short, non-retractable lead. Runners should be mindful of others, especially at the start and on narrow sections.

Junior runners are welcome under these conditions: a parent or guardian must grant permission, and a registered accompanying adult must run alongside the child for the full race. The adult registers on Entry Central and adds the young runner to their profile; the organiser checks the adult registration before confirming the junior place.

On the day there is registration and a race briefing, and runners collect race numbers at the registration tent. Bag drop is available at registration with contents left at the owner’s risk. Toilets are provided in the lower field and at the Village Hall. Parking is on Station Road with signs to the registration tent. A GPX file of the route is available for download.
