Colworth Marathon Challenge

The Colworth Marathon Challenge is a multi-day running event held at the Colworth Estate in Sharnbrook, North Bedfordshire. The event consists of three separate races scheduled over three consecutive days. Participants have the option to enter individual races or complete all three to reach a total distance of 26.2 miles, equivalent to a full marathon.

The event features the following distances:

  • 5 miles: A multi-terrain course.
  • 8.1 miles: A cross-country trail route.
  • 13.1 miles: A multi-terrain half marathon course.

The race series begins with a 5 mile multi-terrain run on Friday evening. This first day includes family entertainment and dedicated races for children. On Saturday, the event continues with an 8.1 mile cross-country trail race. The weekend concludes on Sunday with a 13.1 mile multi-terrain half marathon.

The event is staged at the Colworth Sports and Social Club. Registered participants can access free camping facilities on-site during the race weekend. The competition is organized by the Colworth Striders with support from local partners. The courses utilize the landscape of the Colworth Estate and the surrounding North Bedfordshire area. A 5k, 10k and junior race at Sixfields Stadium in Northampton on Sunday 31 May 2026. The start and finish are inside the stadium and the route continues on closed roads around the town.

A six hour lap based event from Braybrooke Taproom on well surfaced trails along the Griffin Trail and Brampton Valley Way, with free parking, onsite toilets and a taproom for post run refreshments.

A 46 mile (74 km) annual run or walk around Cambridgeshire that starts and finishes at RAF Wyton, visiting four former RAF Pathfinder Force airbases. Options include solo completion or team relay with eight checkpoints on the route.

A 5 km muddy obstacle course at Willen Lake on 06 June 2026 where participants climb, crawl and slide through timed waves. Entry fees and a minimum fundraising target apply, with on-site facilities and accessibility support available.
