Rutland Pretty Muddy 5k

Rutland Pretty Muddy is a 5 kilometre obstacle event held at The Rutland Showground in Oakham on 20 June 2026. The event is organised by Cancer Research UK and includes a minimum fundraising target of £50. Adult entry prices are listed at £22.49 and child entry at £12.00.

The course runs entirely within the showground on grass. The start and finish are on a grass section near the rugby club and are clearly visible from the on-site car park. Terrain may be uneven in places and can become soft and muddy in bad weather. Obstacles require climbing, crawling and sliding; marshals are available to assist and participants may skip obstacles if needed.

Practical information includes on-site parking on grass with stewards directing vehicles and a designated drop off area. Blue badge parking is available and directed by stewards. There are no electric vehicle charging points or bike racks on site. The showground is about a 20 minute walk from Oakham town centre and a 15 minute walk from Oakham train station. Bus routes R1, R2 and 185 pass nearby.

The event uses staggered wave starts every 15 minutes. Participants must be at least 13 years old. Facilities on site include refreshments and toilets; the event is not suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs are not suitable. Participants receive a fundraising pack, a customisable back sign, training support and a Race for Life medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
