Pierrepont Plod is a six hour looped trail event around Holme Pierrepont Country Park and Watersports centre. The course runs around the rowing lake and includes sections with mud, roots and puddles. The terrain is generally flat with only small rises.
Participants may attempt as many laps as possible within the six hour period or complete a single lap. The event uses a looped course of roughly 5.44 km per lap. There are two alternative loop routes and two different starting points, one on the north side of the rowing lake near the cafe and one at a car park to the south.
Because parts of Holme Pierrepont are prone to flooding, the south route is prioritised but the final route will be confirmed in the weeks before the event. The two loop options have small differences in elevation. Exact route maps are provided for each option.
