The course uses single track trails within the state park and includes hills, streams and rocky sections. Some portions are narrow with steep drop-offs. The route is marked with orange ribbon; participants should follow the ribbon at trail crossings rather than assuming the person ahead is on course.

There is one aid station at the start/finish area; half marathoners encounter it once between their two loops. Marathoners see the aid station at approximately miles 6, 10, 16 and 20. Organizers advise carrying water.

Course cutoff is six hours. Published pace limits are 13:45 minutes per mile for the marathon, 27:30 minutes per mile for the half marathon, and 58 minutes per mile for the 10K.

Bibs are mailed beginning two weeks before the event; any unreceived bibs are available for pickup on race morning. Park parking is $10 per vehicle inside Bothe-Napa State Park; free overflow parking is available along Highway 29 but must be legal. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; optional refund protection must be purchased at checkout. Cancellations before September 24, 2026 may receive a rollover credit minus a $20 fee; after that date a doctor's note is required for credit.

All participants receive a T-shirt. Personalized award ribbons for the top three finishers male and female in each age group are mailed later. Medals are awarded to all marathon and half marathon finishers. For safety, headphones and other audio devices are not allowed on the course.
