Wild Moor Running - Myth and Heritage

Wild Moor Running stages a guided, socially paced trail run that starts and finishes in the village of Thornton-le-Dale, North Yorkshire. The event follows trails across moorland and woodland, crossing streams, passing tiny hamlets, and climbing onto open moorland. The advertised route length is 14 mile and the run is led in small groups with a maximum of six runners.

Entries are managed through SiEntries. Entries open on 16 March 2026 and close on 23 May 2026. The minimum age for participation is 18 and the entry fee is £35. The advertised meeting location is Thornton Dale Car Park in Thornton-le-Dale.

The format is described as social and guided, with time allowed on the route for views and stops. After the run there is an opportunity to continue with a post-run gathering offering a drink and local food. The event is presented as an introduction to the trails, moorland, and local history of the North York Moors, delivered in small-group guided sessions.
