Hardmoors 200

The Hardmoors 200 is a 200 mile single-stage ultra marathon that takes place every two years. The course begins in Kingston upon Hull and follows the Transpennine Trail along the River Humber. From there, runners join the Yorkshire Wolds Way, traveling through wooded slopes and valleys for 79 miles before reaching Filey Brigg. The final 112 miles follow the Cleveland Way National Trail, passing through coastal towns such as Whitby and Saltburn, as well as the Cleveland Hills and North York Moors.

Participants must navigate the following distances:

  • 200 miles (solo or relay)

The event has a total cut-off time of 60 hours. Strict intermediate cut-offs are enforced, including a 24-hour limit to reach the 88-mile mark at Filey Brigg. The route involves a total ascent of approximately 7,400 meters (24,300 feet).

All competitors are required to have a motorized support team. Support runners are permitted on specific sections of the course, namely from Fridaythorpe to Filey Brigg and from Sandsend to Helmsley. Mandatory equipment includes a waterproof jacket with taped seams, a headtorch with spare batteries, a survival bag, and a capacity to carry at least one liter of fluids. The race uses GPS trackers to monitor progress and ensure participants stay on the designated route. Aid stations are located at various village halls and landmarks, providing water, basic food, and hot drinks at specific locations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
