  • Main distance: 10.70 km, climb 766 m
  • Short course: 0.00 km

The route starts and finishes at Silverstrand car park. The course follows a road for about 1 km, then a farmers track for about 500 m and out through a gate. From the gate runners proceed unmarked to a col between two peaks. The 1 km from the col to the summit is marked with IMRA flags and this marked section must be followed both up and back. From the col the return to the gate is by free route and then down the road to the finish. There is a faint track via the river to the col but poor visibility can create misleading tracks. All fenced land is out of bounds and runners must pass in and out through the farmer’s gate.

Mandatory Level C kit must be carried as required and will be checked at registration. Required items include a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone, foil blanket or bivvy bag, waterproof full leg cover, means to carry at least 500 mL water, emergency food, map, and compass. Failure to carry required kit may result in being denied entry or disqualification. Registration is at Silverstrand car park and includes sign in, number collection if it is a runner's first race of the year, and a kit check. Prizegiving takes place at Silver Strand car park.
