Mt Bogong Conquestathon

The Conquestathon is a single day, return trek of 21 km to the summit of Mt Bogong, the highest mountain in Victoria (1,986 m). The route gains 1,410 metres of elevation in the first 9 km via Staircase Spur, then descends Eskdale Spur to Camp Creek Gap and follows a 4WD track for the final 8 km back to Mountain Creek Campground.

The 2026 event is the 46th staging. Funds raised support local community groups, including the Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club Search and Rescue (BNSC SAR). BNSC SAR volunteers will marshal the course on event day.

Entries are capped at 350. Categories include competitive and non competitive entries, and there are team categories: the Altra Fastest Team (prize includes a $250 voucher and Altra shoes for the fastest three) and the Howmans Gap Largest Team (prize includes two nights free accommodation for the whole team). Fee levels listed by the organiser are: U18 $30 early bird / $40 after, Adult $40 early bird / $60 after, Family $100 early bird / $150 after.

Participants must meet the U18 guideline that a parent or guardian is contactable for the whole event, and must carry mandatory gear checked at registration. Entrants must reach the clocked summit checkpoint by 12:00 pm and the Camp Creek checkpoint by 2:00 pm or follow the organiser procedures for those who miss these cut offs.
