Mt Bogong Conquestathon
The Mt Bogong Conquestathon is a challenging 21km single-day trek to the summit of Victoria’s highest mountain, Mt Bogong. The event offers both competitive running and non-competitive hiking categories, with specific cut-off times at various checkpoints along the course. The course starts at Mountain Creek Campground and includes a trek to the summit of Mt Bogong before returning to the campground.
The event aims to raise funds for the Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club Search and Rescue, with donations going towards upgrading specialized search and rescue equipment. The event has a rich history, having been first held in 1969, and is now organized by the Hoppet committee. Registrations close at 10 pm on the day before the event, and there are no entries on the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
