Mt Bogong Conquestathon
The Conquestathon is a single day, out-and-back trek or run covering a total of 21 km to the summit of Mount Bogong, Victoria. The route climbs 1,410 metres in the first 9 km via Staircase Spur to the summit at 1,986 m, then descends Eskdale Spur to Camp Creek Gap before following a 4WD track for the final 8 km back to Mountain Creek Campground.
Entries are capped at 350 participants and there are competitive and non competitive categories. Team awards include a Largest Team prize and a fastest team prize determined from the first three finishing times. Spot prizes are provided by event sponsors and some funds raised support local community groups, including the Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club Search and Rescue.
Event information includes a participant information pack, a course map, and a GPX file. Mandatory gear is required for all starters and there are enforced cut-off points at the summit and at Camp Creek; participants who miss those cut-offs must follow the event’s withdrawal or transport procedures. There are no entries on the day and registrations close shortly before the event. Volunteers marshal the course and some volunteer teams operate from the mountain overnight to support safety and course management. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
