Mt Bogong Conquestathon

The Mt Bogong Conquestathon is a single day 21 km return trek to the summit of Mount Bogong, the highest mountain in Victoria. The event listed for Saturday 27th February 2027 follows a defined course with mandatory gear checks and event briefing before the route begins.

The route is 21 km in total with a sustained ascent of 1,410 metres in the first 9 km up Staircase Spur to the summit at 1,986 m. The return follows Eskdale Spur to Camp Creek Gap and then a 4WD track for the final 8 km back to Mountain Creek Camp Ground, which serves as the start and finish area. Clocked checkpoints are located at the summit and at Camp Creek with enforced cutoffs; participants who do not reach these checkpoints within the event parameters must follow the event directions at those points.

Entries are capped at 350 participants. Categories include competitive and non competitive options, and teams are eligible for team awards such as Largest Team and fastest team prizes. Early registrants are eligible for AGL spot prize draws. The event raises funds for local community groups including the Birkebeiner Nordic Ski Club Search and Rescue. Volunteer marshals from local search and rescue crews support the course and provide safety assistance during the event.

The event reached its 46th staging in 2026 and attracted 240 participants that year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
