Course Information

The course is a point-to-point route covering 15.0 km. It has an 1867 m vertical climb. The route begins in Harrietville, crosses the Ovens River, and proceeds up the Bon Accord Track. This trail follows the river for about 6 km before climbing steeply up Bon Accord Spur to the Bon Accord Hut Ruins. After another steep climb, the course passes the treeline onto The Razorback for a final undulating kilometre to the finish.

Logistics and Facilities

Registration on the day opens at 6:15 AM. There will be public toilets and portaloos available. A coffee van will be open from 6:30 AM near the start area. There is no aid provided on the course, so participants must be self-sufficient. At the finish, water and fruit will be available. A shuttle bus ticket from the finish back to the start in Harrietville is included in the entry fee; this is a 90-minute round trip.

Participant Expectations

A mandatory gear list is specified due to potentially changing alpine conditions. For walkers, a guideline is to aim to summit by 1 PM, which requires a pace of approximately 25 to 30 minutes per kilometre. Parking near the finish is on the south side of the road past the Mt Lock Carpark; U-turns at the hut site are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
