Mt Hotham Day 3 : Bright Alpine Climb 4 Peaks

This Day 3 mountain run starts from Tabare Park in Harrietville and finishes near Diamantina Hut on Mt Hotham. The course covers 15.0 km and includes approximately 1867 m of vertical climb. Runners leave Harrietville, cross the Ovens River, follow Bon Accord Track for about 6 km, then climb Bon Accord Spur past the Bon Accord Hut ruins, continue above the treeline onto the Razorback and finish at Diamantina Hut.

There is no aid on the course. Participants must be self sufficient for food and fluids for the duration of their run. An updated list of mandatory gear is provided by the organisers and should be carried because alpine conditions can change quickly and weather may differ between the valley and the summit.

At Diamantina Hut some water, fruit and limited aid is available to sustain a return trip. Shuttle bus transport back to Harrietville is included in the entry fee; the operator notes this involves a minimum 90 minute round trip. Drivers meeting competitors at the finish are asked to travel past Diamantina Hut to Mt Lock Carpark to turn around and then park on the south side of the road. Roadworks on the Alpine Highway between Harrietville and Mt Hotham may lengthen travel times.

Volunteer roles are listed for sweepers, de-marking, marshals and registration support. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
