The event is the first day of the Bright Alpine Climb 4 Peaks series. It takes place on Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Course Information

The route is a 10.5 km trail run starting at the Eurobin Creek Picnic Area in Porepunkah. The course follows The Big Walk trail to the summit, finishing at the Old Buffalo Chalet on Mount Buffalo. The total elevation gain for the climb is 1345 meters.

There will be a mass start at 8:00 AM, with an additional 15-minute window for others to begin to spread out the field. The trail includes four road crossings of Mount Buffalo Road. There is one water station along the route at Mackeys Lookout, approximately 4.6 km from the finish.

Participant Information

Walkers are advised that a minimum pace is required to summit by 11:00 AM. All participants must carry mandatory gear for alpine conditions. Registration opens on the day at 6:30 AM at the Eurobin Picnic Area. Car parking is at the Porepunkah Recreation Reserve, with a shuttle bus service to the start beginning at 6:15 AM. A shuttle bus also returns from the finish line at Mount Buffalo Chalet to the car park.
