Event Information

The event takes place on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The start and event headquarters are at Tavare Park in Harrietville. The course covers a distance of 12.0 km with an elevation gain of 1650 m.

The Course

Participants start at Tavare Park and ascend via the Bungalow Spur Track to the summit of Mt Feathertop, passing Federation Hut along the way. In case of bad weather, the course may be shortened to finish at Federation Hut, at the 11 km mark. A GPX file and a course map are available for download. There are no aid stations with provided water or food on the course. Water can be accessed from the tank at Federation Hut, but it is untreated.

Start Procedure

There is a staggered start window from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Participants can self-select a start time in 5-minute intervals. The event recommends walkers start between 7:00 and 7:30 AM, and runners start between 7:30 and 8:00 AM. On-site registration opens at 6:30 AM. All participants are required to check in at the start line.

Parking and Facilities

Event parking is available along Feathertop Track adjacent to Tavare Park. Parking is not permitted in Pioneer Park next to the Great Alpine Road. Public toilets and portable toilets are located across a footbridge from the event headquarters. A coffee van is expected to be open from 6:30 AM nearby.

Participant Information

Participants are expected to be self-sufficient for the duration of their time on the course. Walkers are advised to aim for the summit by midday. After finishing, all participants must check in at the event headquarters in Harrietville. If a participant plans to descend via a different route, they must notify the event director.
