4 Peaks Bright Alpine Climb - Mt Feathertop

Harrietville, Australia • 1 Nov 2026

Event overview

The Mt Feathertop Day 2 event is part of the Bright Alpine Climb 4 Peaks series and takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026. The route starts at Tavare Park in Harrietville and climbs to the summit of Mt Feathertop. The course distance is 12.0 km with a total vertical climb of 1650 m. The event uses a staggered start with separate start periods for walkers and runners; participants select their start within the provided window and are required to check in at the start line so their number can be recorded.

Course and logistics

Runners follow Bungalow Spur Track and pass Federation Hut on the way to the summit. In bad weather the course may be shortened to finish at Federation Hut, at about the 11 km mark. There is no organiser-provided food or water on course; water is available from the Federation Hut tank but it is untreated. Participants should be self-sufficient for nutrition and hydration; slow walkers may be on course for in excess of seven hours. Maps and a GPX file are provided for the course.

Parking is restricted so vehicles should not be left in Pioneer Park; organisers request parking adjacent to Tavare Park along Feathertop Track. Public toilets and portaloos are available; a coffee van will operate near Mountain View Retreat across the footbridge from race HQ. Volunteers are sought for sweeping, de-marking, marshaling and registration roles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
