Mountaineer Rumble 100 Miler and associated races
The event takes place at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, South Carolina. Runners use a ten mile loop on the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze) that has approximately 650 feet of elevation gain per loop. The course layout uses repeated loops with specified out-and-back segments for some distances.
Distances offered:
- 100 Mile
- 100K
- 50K
- 10 Mile
Loop and race structure: 50K entrants complete three loops plus a half mile out-and-back at the start. 100K entrants complete six loops plus a mile out-and-back at the start. 100 Mile entrants complete ten loops. Each loop has two fully stocked aid stations. There is an indoor aid station at the start/finish area with space for drop bags and a canopy area where crew may set up; crew access is limited to the start/finish area.
Time limits are specified for each distance: 50K, 100K, and 100 Mile have distinct cutoffs. All finishers receive awards; 100 Mile finishers receive a custom designed buckle. Since 2022, runners who complete all three longer distances receive a special handmade display award.
