Not-A-Sprint Ultra Races is a timed endurance event held on the Thermal Belt Rail Trail in Forest City, NC. The course is a paved out-and-back measuring 8.34 miles per lap, with the start and finish at the Pavilion on Park Square (POPS). The loop is largely flat, with about 95 ft of elevation change per loop and roughly 35% shaded. Aid stations are provided on course and at the Forest City aid area.
Race format, rules, and support

Individual race rules include pacing and crew limits: pacers are not permitted for the 3-hour and 6-hour events; 12-hour runners may have a pacer after the halfway point. Pacers must be 18 years or older and must check in and sign a liability waiver at the Forest City timing station. Support crews may assist only in the Forest City aid station area and must not interfere with other runners. Runners must wear bib numbers on the front. Headphones are allowed. Dogs are not allowed on the course.
Mileage is counted at the Spindale turnaround (4.17 miles) and the Forest City aid station (8.35 miles). Medical personnel and race officials will be on-site. Awards are planned for the top three male and female individual finishers and top three teams. Runners who complete 50 miles within the 12-hour race receive a commemorative belt buckle.
