MoRun Manchester

MoRun Manchester takes place in Heaton Park, with the event hub located at The Bowl near the Farm Centre. The event supports the Movember charity to raise awareness for men's health, including mental health, suicide prevention, and prostate and testicular cancer. The course features a mix of paths and trails through the park. The terrain is undulating and includes some sections that can be bumpy or muddy.

Participants can choose from several distances:

  • 1.5 km (Mini MoRun for children)
  • 5 km (One lap)
  • 10 km (Two laps)
  • Half Marathon (Four laps plus an additional 1.1 km section)

The event uses full race chip timing, providing runners with both gun times and net times. Results are available immediately after crossing the finish line. While the course is open to buggy running and is dog friendly, it is not suitable for wheelchairs due to the terrain. Two sections of the route involve road crossings where runners must take care.

On-site facilities include manned bag storage at the event hub and toilets. The organizers provide water and snacks, such as sweets, at the finish line. All finishers receive a medal and a dedicated headband. Special awards are also presented for various categories, including best dressed and fastest runners. Parking is available at the park, with the closest area being the pay and display lot at St Margarets Gate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
