The 50 miler follows paved multi-use trails in Volusia County, using the East Regional Rail Trail, Spring-to-Spring Trail and Riverside Walk Trail. The turnaround is near mile 44. There are five aid stations along the 50 mile course.
Course support, rules and awards
Participants must provide their own transportation to the start and pickup at the finish. The 50 mile event has a 14 hour cutoff. Runners must carry their own hydration bottles or packs. Aid stations are spaced about every 8-12 miles and runners should be self-supported for those distances. Crew may follow runners along the course. Lights and reflective vests are required for anyone running after dark; failure to have them may result in disqualification.
Post-race food, drinks and beer are available at Central 28 Beer Company. Finisher medals are awarded for the 50 mile and 50K; 17K finishers receive an award.
