Monroe Cross Trail 50 Mile Ultra
The Monroe Cross Trail 50 Mile Ultra is a point to point running event on paved multi-use trails in Volusia County, Florida. The main route runs from Rotary Park in Edgewater to Central 28 Beer Company in DeBary. The course follows the East Regional Rail Trail to Deltona, then the Spring-to-Spring Trail from Gemini Springs through Lake Monroe Park, continues on 17/92 toward Wayside Park in Sanford, and connects to the Riverside Walk Trail along the shoreline of Lake Monroe to an approximate turnaround near mile 44.
There are five aid stations spaced about every 8 to 12 miles; runners should be able to self-support for those distances and must carry their own hydration bottles or packs. Crews are allowed to follow runners along the course. The event enforces a 14 hour cutoff and requires lights and reflective vests for anyone running after dark; failure to have required lights and a reflective vest after dark will result in disqualification. The race is point to point and participants must provide their own transportation to the start and pickup at the finish; the event does not provide general transportation except for medical emergency.
New for 2027, the 50K will be run point to point. Finishers in the 50 mile and 50K receive a finisher medal, 17K finishers receive a finisher award, and the top ten male and female finishers in each event receive prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
