Monroe Cross Trail 50 Mile Ultra
The Monroe Cross Trail event is a series of trail races held in Volusia County, Florida. The 50 mile course is a point to point route that begins at Rotary Park in Edgewater and finishes at Central 28 Beer Company in DeBary. The route follows the East Regional Rail Trail to Deltona, continues on the Spring-to-Spring Trail through Gemini Springs and Lake Monroe Park, crosses 17/92 toward Wayside Park in Sanford, and connects to the Riverside Walk Trail along Lake Monroe before a turnaround just past mile 44 and the return to Central 28.
Distances offered:
- 50 Mile Ultra
- 50K
- 17K
There are five aid stations along the 50 mile course, spaced approximately every 8 to 12 miles; participants must carry their own hydration and should be able to be self supported for at least that distance. Runners may be followed by their own crew. Lights and reflective vests are required for anyone running after dark and lack of required equipment after dark will result in disqualification.
This is a point to point event and participants must provide their own transportation to the start and from the finish; no event transportation is provided except for medical emergencies. Finish line amenities at Central 28 include food, drinks and beer, and crew, family, and friends are welcome to use outdoor or indoor seating. Finisher medals are awarded for the 50 mile and 50K and all 17K finishers receive a finisher award; top ten male and female finishers in each event receive prizes.
Course maps are provided for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
