Real Florida 5K/10K : Wekiwa Springs State Park
The event is the 40th annual Real Florida 5K/10K cross country run held at Wekiwa Springs State Park in Apopka, Florida on Saturday, February 20, 2027. The course is run entirely off-road on park trails.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Wekiva Wilderness Trust, a nonprofit that supports state parks in the Wekiva River Basin. The event is designated as an Orlando Runners Club Annual Challenge Series Run. Entry is limited to 350 runners because of park rules.
Every finisher receives a medal and a commemorative t-shirt. Prizes are awarded to four overall winners (fastest female 5K and 10K, fastest male 5K and 10K) and to age group winners for both distances. All registrants are entered into a chance drawing for additional prizes. Light refreshments and awards are provided following the races. A coffee food truck from Artesano Coffee will be on site offering beverages and bakery items for sale.
There is a virtual race option. Virtual participants may run their 5K or 10K any time between February 1, 2027 and February 25, 2027, track the distance with a mobile app or GPS, and submit their verified time to the event results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
