Event Overview

The Mon & Brec Canal 40 Mile Race is a point-to-point run following the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. The route goes from Malpas to Brecon Basin, passing through quiet countryside, past locks and bridges, and into the Brecon Beacons.

Course Details

The 40-mile course follows the canal towpath, which has firm, mostly flat surfaces. It is a linear journey along the historic waterway. The event has an overall time limit of 15 hours.

Support and Logistics

There are three fully supported checkpoints along the route, providing snacks, fruit, and drinks. Participants must be 18 or older. Entry fees are £45 for club-attached runners and £47 for unattached runners. There is a structured refund policy for cancellations made before the event date.
