Moccasin Ultra Fest
Moccasin Ultra Fest is a 36 hour timed trail event held on the Wolf River Trails at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead in Memphis, TN, taking place from December 31 to January 1. The course is a fast, flat 4 mile loop that returns runners to the start/finish area each lap.
The event format records the last fully completed loop when the 36 hour time limit ends. Runners may leave and return to the course during the race; each lap brings participants back through the heart of the race village and the results board.
Awards and finish recognitions are distance based. All participants earn a finisher medal for completing one loop. Additional awards include a 52+ mile buckle at 13 loops, a 100 mile buckle at 25 loops, and an exclusive sub-24 hour 100 mile buckle. The top male and top female by distance each receive a $500 cash prize. Every runner receives an event fleece hoodie.
There is one fully manned aid station at the start/finish that operates as a help yourself station with food, soups, coffee, heaters, chairs, and blankets. Runners must supply any special dietary nutrition or hydration needs. Professional photographers will take images throughout the event and photos are provided free to runners.
Race rules include no pacers, trekking poles allowed, no littering, staying on the marked course, and responsibility for crew behavior. Registrations are non refundable and non transferable; deferral credits are available at 50% if requested at least 60 days prior and 25% if requested at least 30 days prior, with no credit after December 24, 2026. December weather in Memphis can vary widely; typical highs are in the upper 40s to lower 50s and lows in the upper 20s to 30s. Several hotels and services are located along nearby Germantown Parkway.
