Race format and logistics
The 100 mile course features over 30,000 feet of ascent and a matching amount of descent, consisting of 152 short "everesting" loops on the Cannonsburg quad and four approximately 2 mile single-track loops that may be run at any time during the race. The 50 mile course includes over 15,000 feet of ascent and descent, with 76 everesting loops and two approximately 2 mile single-track loops. The 100 mile event has a 36 hour cutoff.
The Sunset 10K tours additional trails and reaches the top of the main hill; the Sunrise 20K is two laps of that 10K course on single track and the ski hill. Participants are responsible for bringing a headlamp and extra batteries; a headlamp is recommended for all distances except the Sunday Sunrise 20K. Aid stations provide cold and hot food, and breakfast is offered on Sunday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
