Franciscan Rhythms Trail Run
The Franciscan Rhythms Trail Run is an annual event held at the Lowell campus of the Franciscan Life Process Center. The course takes participants through various natural landscapes, including deciduous woodlands, pine forests, and a restored prairie featuring native plants. The trail is unpaved and winds through fields and wooded areas, where local wildlife such as birds, insects, and beavers are frequently observed.
Participants can choose from the following event options:
- 5K trail run
- 5K trail walk
- Kids Fun Run
Live music stations are positioned along the route to provide motivation, featuring a variety of genres such as Irish music, rock, and folk. The event supports the music therapy scholarship fund and ongoing land restoration efforts on the campus property. Due to the nature of the unpaved trail, strollers and dogs are not permitted on the course.
Following the race, the organizers provide water and snacks, including homemade cinnamon rolls prepared by the Sisters. Additionally, participants have the option to preorder fresh homemade bread, such as whole wheat or oatmeal, for pickup at the campus. A virtual participation option is also available for those unable to attend the event in person on the scheduled date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
