The Cross Country Team Challenge takes place in Grand Rapids at Richmond Park, 1101 Richmond St NW, on July 21, 2026. The event uses a 5K course that includes mowed grass, packed dirt, and gravel. The course will be well-marked and led by cyclists. Registration for the main race and the community run opens January 20, 2026. The 5K portion is chip-timed.

Format and awards
The main competition is a team event with teams of 5 to 7 people. Team scoring uses standard cross country scoring, with the top five finishers from each team counting toward the team score. Coed teams must include at least one member of the opposite gender. Organizers allow the first registrant to create a team and provide options to change team name and team type later; they also offer help forming teams for individuals.
There are individual and team awards sponsored by Gazelle Sports, including awards for overall and masters winners and team awards. The community 1 Mile run is open to youth and adults but is not eligible for awards. Youth pricing is available for participants under age 20.
