Methodist Mountain Ultra

The Methodist Mountain Ultra (MMU) is a trail race set on the Methodist Mountain trail system near Salida, Colorado. It takes place at the northern end of the Sangre de Cristo mountains. The event features two distances: a 30k and a 50k.

Both courses are primarily on single-track trails. The 50k has an elevation gain of approximately 5,500 feet, while the 30k has a gain of about 3,000 feet.

The race start and finish location is South Ark (formerly Vandaveer Ranch Park) in Salida. There are multiple aid stations along the course, with specific cutoff times for each distance. Crew access for runners is only permitted at the Spartan aid station due to the remote nature of other stations. Pacers are allowed for the 50k distance only, from the Spartan aid station to the finish.

All finishers receive a finisher award and a short-sleeve t-shirt. Cash prizes are awarded for the top three male and female finishers in the 50k distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
