Course and entry
The course distance is 6K (about 3.6 miles) with approximately 440 feet of vertical gain. The route runs mostly on rolling, hard-packed mountain bike trails, with a steep climb in the first mile and a rolling descent over the final 2.5 miles. Online registration is capped at 175 entrants, with up to 75 additional participants accepted during day-of packet pickup. Registration (including taxes and processing fees) is $40; Southern Adventist University students and youth under 18 receive a 66% discount. A race t-shirt is included for registrants who sign up before February 1.
Prizes and purpose
More than $900 in cash prizes will be distributed among the top finishers in overall, masters, and Southern Adventist University student categories. Course-record bounties were established in 2024 at $100 each; unclaimed bounties roll over and increase for future races. Proceeds support Southern's Adventure Program Affinity Fund, which funds outreach bringing disadvantaged Hamilton County schoolchildren to on-campus ropes course and outdoor programs.
