Run The Roost Trail Race

The Run The Roost Trail Race is an annual spring running event held at Rocky Face Ridge Park in Dalton, Georgia. The competition takes place on a 10-mile loop that features approximately 2,000 feet of elevation gain per lap. The course reaches the summit of the roost, providing views of the surrounding area.

Participants can choose from three distinct distances based on the number of completed loops:

  • 10 miles (one loop)
  • 50 kilometers (three loops)
  • 50 miles (five loops)

The event includes specific cut-off times for the longer distances. The 50k race has a 10-hour limit, while the 50-mile race has a limit of 14 hours and 8 minutes. There is no cut-off time for the 10-mile distance. The race is capped at 100 runners to maintain the event scale.

One main aid station is located along the loop, providing water, electrolytes, and gels. Additional hydration and food are available at the park pavilion after each lap. For participants in the ultra-distances, lunch is served at 1:00 PM and dinner is provided for the 50-milers at 5:00 PM.

The venue features activities for spectators, including cornhole and a fishing pond located near the pavilion. Registered participants receive a short-sleeve tri-blend shirt, and finisher awards are presented to the top male and female runners in each category.
