Johnston Woods Trail Festival

The Johnston Woods Trail Festival takes place on Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Johnston Woods, located at 298 Brymer Creek Road in Cleveland, TN. The event is a fundraiser for children's summer camp and community programming.

The festival features several timed trail races: 3-hour, 6-hour, 12-hour, and 24-hour events. There is also a 6-hour Rucking event, which involves hiking or walking with a weighted pack (30 lbs for male participants, 15 lbs for female participants). A separate 12-hour night race also takes place. Activities are centered at the Woodland Center building and the field behind it.

Participants run on a 4.35-mile forested loop trail with rolling hills, roots, rocks, and small creeks. The loop has an elevation gain of approximately 300 feet. A fully stocked aid station is located at the end of each lap, offering items like potatoes, fruit, chips, pickles, cookies, and an LMNT electrolyte drink. Pizza will be served around lunchtime, with hot food available later for longer distances.

All runners registered before the deadline receive a t-shirt. Every finisher of an event receives a slate coaster. First-place overall male and female winners in each race receive gift cards from Terra Running Company and a custom slate award. Second and third place also receive custom slate awards. Participants who complete 100 miles receive a buckle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
