Course and logistics

The course uses an inner (clockwise) loop and an outer (counter-clockwise) loop. The outer loop is about 20 miles with roughly 5,000 feet of elevation gain per loop. Two taps on the Pinhoti Connector add about 3.4 miles and about 1,500 feet of additional gain. A notable section, the Power Line Climb, is about 1 mile with approximately 1,000 feet of gain, including about 0.25 miles of steep climbing.

Race formats by loop count: the 200M is 10 loops, the 100M is 5 loops, the 100K is 3 loops, the 50K is 1.5 loops, and the One&Done is 1 loop. There are multiple aid points and water stations on each loop; crew access is allowed at Lakeside, Cool Springs Overlook, and the Park Entrance. Pacer rules permit pacers after certain loop thresholds for longer races. Total elevation for the 100M is estimated at about 25,000-27,000 feet; the 50K is estimated at roughly 8,000 feet.
