DT Stone Anvil - Fort Mountain State Park, Cohutta Mountains

DT Stone Anvil is a multi-day trail race festival held inside Fort Mountain State Park near Chatsworth, Georgia, from 14 April to 19 April 2026. The event comprises several timed races and looped distance events on mountain trails, including extended multi-loop formats and a 72-hour timed event.

Distances and primary formats:

  • 200 mile race, 10 loops
  • 100 mile race, 5 loops
  • 100 km race, 3 loops
  • 50 km race, 1.5 loops
  • 72 hour timed event and One&Done one loop option

The course uses an inner clockwise loop and an outer counter-clockwise loop. The main loop is about 20 miles with roughly 5,500 feet of elevation gain per loop; two taps on the Pinhoti Connector add about 3.4 miles and 1,500 feet. The route includes technical sections such as parts of the Gahuti trail, rolling double-wide trails, and the Power Line Climb, an approximately one mile ascent with about 1,000 feet of gain.

Aid and crew access are provided at multiple points around the loop, with crew-accessible stations including Lakeside and Cool Springs Overlook. Runners may pick up pacers after designated loop counts for longer races. Cutoff times are enforced for safety. Crew vehicle guidance notes that RVs and trailers are not recommended and access may be limited by park road conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
