Fire Tower Frenzy takes place on November 1, 2025, with the trailhead on FS Road 90A near Ellijay, GA. The event is the third year of this race and offers two distances:

  • 40 Miler
  • 100K

Course and support

The course runs through the Cohutta WMA in Gilmer and Murray counties. The route for the 40 miler includes a summit of Grassy Mountain and a visit to the fire tower, a loop around Lake Conausaga, a descent down Bear Creek, and both Pinhoti 1 and Pinhoti 2 sections, totaling about 40 miles and approximately 7,000 ft of climbing. Aid stations are placed mostly every 5-7 miles and there is a 13 hour cutoff for the 40 miler (about 21 min/mile average).

The 100K follows the first loop and continues onto additional Pinhoti sections, including a roughly 7-mile gravel climb back to the top of Bear Creek and further loops before finishing at the start line. Aid stations for the 100K are about every 5-8 miles and a 22 hour cutoff applies. GPX course files and a route map are provided. Pacers are allowed for the final 20-mile loop. A multi-distance trail running event on the Pinhoti near Dalton, GA, held September 18–19, 2026, featuring mostly single track, ridgelines and rocky sections. Bus transport and crew access are provided for several distances.

Trail races of 50K, 30K and 15K run in the Chattahoochee National Forest on the Benton MacKaye Trail and forest roads, featuring technical singletrack, creek crossings and six aid stations.

A 100 mile mountain road race around Tennessee and North Georgia with nearly 15,000 feet of elevation gain, starting from Camp YMCA Ocoee in Ocoee, TN. Registration closes October 14, 2026.

Trail marathon and 12 mile races at Fort Mountain State Park on October 18, 2026, featuring roughly 5,500 feet of climbing across single track, rocky and mixed use trails and a summit stone wall with fall mountain views.
