Running with Sasquatch 5K

Running with Sasquatch is Ivy Academy’s annual trail race and community fundraiser held on the Ivy Academy campus in Soddy Daisy, TN, along the North Chickamauga Creek. The main event is a 5K out-and-back on a trail approximately 4-5 feet wide that allows two-way traffic. The turnaround point is Pride Rock.

The course offers a true trail experience. Participants should expect possible creek crossings, standing water, fallen trees, and rugged, uneven terrain. Ivy Academy staff are positioned along the trail to guide and supervise. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water supply.

Multiple participation options are available: running the 5K, a Wildflower Walk that follows the same route at a relaxed pace, a Ruck-The-Rock event that requires carrying a rucksack of canned goods to Pride Rock and back, and a Sleepy Sasquatch option that receives event swag without completing the course. Ruck-The-Rock participants weigh their rucksack after the course, donate the canned goods, and make a monetary donation equal to the weight; canned goods and half of monetary donations go to the Soddy Daisy Food Bank.

Proceeds support Ivy Academy athletics and a scholarship fund. Awards include an “I Whooped Sas’” trucker hat for those who beat Sasquatch, top-three awards by gender and age categories, student awards, and over $500 in giveaways. A recycled race number drop box offers entry into door prize drawings. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
