Rabid Raccoon 25k
The Rabid Raccoon 25k is a trail running event located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The race is organized by Bad Beard Events and takes place at Raccoon Mountain. The course begins at Laurel Point and traverses the north and west sections of the mountain using a variety of specific trails, including Megawatt, Grindstone Ridge, Lower Chunky, Live Wire 1 and 2, High Voltage, and Split Rock. For the 2027 edition, the race will follow a clockwise direction.
Participants have a time limit of 5 hours to complete the 25 km course. The event utilizes the following trails:

The race is a cupless event, meaning participants are required to bring their own hydration packs or handheld bottles. Two aid stations are positioned along the course, providing water, Gatorade, and standard trail fare such as granola bars, gummy bears, gels, and chips. Medical services are provided by the Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service.
All registered runners receive a shirt, a finisher prize, and post-race food and beverages. Awards are presented to the first, second, and third place overall male and female finishers. While dogs are not permitted to run on the course with participants, the event supports the Southern Off Road Biking Association (SORBA) through a portion of the race proceeds.
