McCoy Flat Death Race

McCoy Flat Death Race is an endurance elimination event on July 18, 2026, held at McCoy Flats Trail Head in Vernal, Utah. The format uses repeated laps of 4.1 miles. Runners must begin each lap at the scheduled hourly interval and complete that lap within one hour; failure to start a lap on the interval or to finish the lap within the hour results in elimination. The event continues until a single runner remains.

The final remaining runner receives $50 for every lap completed. Second place earns $20 per lap and third place earns $10 per lap. The announcement gives an example that 20 laps would result in $1,000 for the final runner.

Custom medals, swag bags and race shirts are provided for all participants. Race shirts have a guarantee for registrations received by July 3. The course is described as an endurance route in the northeastern Utah desert and takes place at McCoy Flats Trail Head, Vernal, UT 84078.
