McCoy Flats Trail Events
The McCoy Flats Trail Events take place at the McCoy Flats Trail Complex, located a few miles southwest of Vernal, Utah. This event utilizes various single track trails that traverse the high desert landscape of northeastern Utah. Participants travel through a terrain characterized by desert scenery, which often features spring desert flowers and local wildlife such as antelope, bobcats, cotton tail rabbits, and mule deer.
The competition offers three distinct distance options for participants:
- 15K
- 10K
- 5K
The event features a course record prize system. If a runner sets a new course record in their respective distance, they are awarded a cash prize. These incentives are available for both male and female participants across all three distances. The current course records stand at 1:18:04 for the 15K, 48:26 for the 10K, and 27:18 for the 5K for men. For women, the records are 1:29:46 for the 15K, 1:11:24 for the 10K, and 37:02 for the 5K.
