Massey Meadow Half & 10K

The Massey Meadow event takes place in Vernal, Utah, specifically at the Massey Meadow Trail Head in Dry Fork Canyon within the Uintah Mountains. This trail race offers two distinct distances:

  • Half Marathon (approx. 13.1 miles)
  • 10K (approx. 6.2 miles)

The courses are set within the Ashley National Forest and utilize the Flume Trail. The terrain consists of a trail loop that passes through high mountain meadows and presents views of the surrounding canyon. Given the timing in late September, the route features seasonal fall foliage.

The physical demands of the courses include significant elevation changes. The Half Marathon features an elevation gain and loss of 1,533 feet. The 10K course involves an elevation gain and loss of 839 feet. To support participants, multiple aid and water stations are positioned along both routes. The Half Marathon includes six aid stations located at miles 1.75, 4.3, 6.9, 8.3, 10.3, and 12.1. The 10K participants have access to three aid stations at miles 1.75, 3.15, and 5.2.

A cash prize of $100 is available for runners who set a new course record, applicable to both male and female categories. Race packets are distributed at the start and finish area at Massey's Meadow on the morning of the event. The location is a short drive from the city of Vernal.
