The May Madness 50K is a one-day ultramarathon near Hoffman, North Carolina, held on May 23, 2026. The event consists of ten consecutive 5K runs completed during the day. Course, services and rules

The course is wheel-measured and approximately 5K per lap. Surface is all natural - sand, dirt, leaves, pine straw - with minimal shade and possible occasional horse droppings. There is no water on the course loops; an aid station at the start/finish area will provide water, Gatorade, some snack food, and basic first aid supplies. Entrants are advised to bring personal food, ice, shade, seating, sunscreen, and insect repellent; there are no nearby restaurants.

Free camping is available Friday night after 4 p.m. for tents and campers; there are no electrical hook-ups. Dogs are not allowed on the course; a separate human must monitor any dog brought to the site while the owner runs. First place overall male and female receive pottery awards; no other finisher awards. Registration is limited, nontransferable, nonrefundable, and may close at the director’s discretion.
