Event overview

The Margam Trail Races take place at Margam Country Park and woodland. The event offers three distances: a half marathon, a 10k and a 5k. The routes use forest paths and woodland trails and are fully marked with running arrows and flags. GPS files for each route are provided.

  • 21.1 km - half marathon, 750 m elevation
  • 10.2 km - 10k, 420 m elevation
  • 5.1 km - 5k, 140 m elevation

Checkpoints and waterpoints are provided as follows: half marathon 3, 10k 2, 5k 1.

Logistics and kit

Car parking is at the East gate of Margam Park and is included in the entry fee. The car park opens at 07:15. Participants must carry required safety kit, including a bottle or reusable cup for checkpoint water, a phone with the race HQ number, suitable headwear, and a waterproof top. Additional advisory items listed include energy products, electrolyte tabs and running leggings.

Entry details and inclusions

Entry fees range from £30 to £38. Optional extras are a buff (£7.50), a T-shirt (£20) and a hoodie (£40). Entry includes car parking, a finishers medal, downloadable race photographs, event safety and first aid cover, electronic timing, marked route and land permits, checkpoints and the GPS route file.
