Marathon Monk Ultra

Marathon Monk Ultra is a two day event on June 5 and June 6, 2026 at Sky Maple Farm in Hillsborough, North Carolina. The gathering centers on a one mile forest loop where participants may run or walk alongside a visiting Marathon Monk as a form of moving meditation. Participants move at their own rhythm without clocks or competition.

A Mala bead is given for each completed lap so distance can be tracked without clocks or cell phones. When participants step off the loop, contemplative activities are offered across the farm, including floating sound baths, sunset yoga, binaural meditations, and equine assisted meditation.

The schedule includes evening teachings, group meditation, and an open dialogue with the visiting monk, followed by a vegetarian farm to table dinner. Multiple ultramarathon distances are organized as separate race entries.
