Manchester - The Bee's Knees Run

The Bee's Knees Run is a timed, multi-lap event held at Hardy Farm in Chorlton Water Park beside the River Mersey. The course is an out-and-back towpath route of 5.3 km (3.28 miles) per lap. Participants may complete any number of laps up to a 7 hour time limit; the minimum distance is one lap.

Every participant receives a bespoke finisher's medal and a handmade knitted bee created by a Phoenix Running legend. The event donates £2 from every entry to Ray's of Sunshine Children's Charity. A mandatory race brief is issued one week before the event.

Terrain is off-road trail on a riverside towpath with very little elevation change. A well-stocked vegetarian aid station is available throughout the day, offering many vegan options and some gluten-free items; examples include bananas, dates, sweets, crisps, cake, squash, and full sugar cola. Participants with severe, life threatening allergies are advised to bring their own food due to possible cross-contamination.

Race headquarters provide toilets and changing rooms. On-site parking at Hardy Farm is limited to 75 cars on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional parking for up to 100 cars is available across the river at Sale Water Park, about a 15 minute walk, with further public and paid parking around Chorlton Water Park. Alderman's Ascent is an 8.5 km fell race with over 400 m of climb visiting Pots and Pans and Shaw Rocks around Alderman's Hill in Greenfield.

A muddy 5 km obstacle course at Sefton Park on 25 July 2026 with climbs, crawls and slides across gravel and grass. Participants must be 13 or older; adult and child entry fees apply and a minimum fundraising target is set.

A rugged 28.5 km fell race from Cartworth Moor Cricket Club across Pennine moorland, requiring navigation, mandatory kit and FRA safety compliance.

Tackle the Hameldon Quarry Race on 28 July 2026 in Hapton, Burnley, a lively 6.5 km trail with about 400 m of climb through Bowland terrain. Day entry only, low fees and team categories make it ideal for a spontaneous challenge.
