Phoenix Blaze, Manchester

Phoenix Blaze is the second event in a 2026 Summer Series held at Hardy Farm and Chorlton Water Park in Manchester. The series includes Phoenix Ignite on 13 July and Phoenix Afterglow on 22 August, and features a new medal for the series.

This is a timed event on an out-and-back course along the River Mersey. The lap measures 5.3 km (3.28 miles) and participants may complete as many laps as they choose within a seven hour limit. A minimum distance is one lap and all attending participants receive a bespoke finishers' medal. Participants may run, walk, jog or hike.

Available race distances:

  • One 5.3 km lap 3.28 miles
  • 5 km and 10 km options
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon
  • Ultra distance options

The course is off-road on a riverside towpath with very little elevation gain, making the overall profile largely flat. A vegetarian aid station is available throughout the day with many vegan and gluten free options. Typical items include bananas, dates, jelly sweets, crisps, cake and squash. Participants with life threatening allergies are advised to bring their own food; requests for specific items should be made at least seven days in advance.

Facilities at Race HQ include toilets and changing rooms. On-site parking at Hardy Farm is limited to 75 cars on a first come, first served basis. Additional parking for up to 100 cars is available at Sale Water Park, about a 15 minute walk away. Public and paid parking is also available around Chorlton Water Park.

Chosen charity for the event is the Pug Dog Welfare and Rescue Association. The organiser will donate £1 for every participant to a selected charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
