Phoenix Running - Manchester - The Purple Potion

This is a timed, lap based running event near Hardy Farm on Brookburn Road, Manchester (M21 8FE). The course is a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out and back along the River Mersey on riverside towpath. The overall course is flat with no elevation gain or loss.

Participants may complete as many laps as they wish within a seven hour time limit. Distance options include:

Finishers receive a bespoke medal unless they choose the medal free entry option introduced for 2026; the medal free option does not include the run potion. At the finish a run potion is offered with choices including 500 ml Lucozade, 500 ml Coca Cola, a can of Red Bull, or a can of Irn Bru. There is a fully stocked aid station offering items such as bananas, pretzels, jelly sweets, biscuits and cola, with vegan and gluten free options available.

Entry fees are set per category and places are limited. Bibs are collected on the day. The chosen charity for this event is Tiny Paws Manchester and the organiser donates £1 for every finisher to the selected charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A 50 mile supported trail race from Manchester to Liverpool along the Trans-Pennine Trail with six checkpoints, mandatory kit, live GPS tracking and a 14 hour cut off. Entrants must be 20 or older and have completed a marathon.
