Event Overview
The Long Haul 100 is a 100-mile and 100-furlong trail race taking place at Colt Creek State Park in Lakeland, Florida. It is a Western States Endurance Run (WSER) qualifier and a Trail Sisters approved event.
Distances & Course
The event offers two distances:
- 100 Miler: This race consists of six loops, each approximately 16.8 miles long, for a total of 100 miles. The overall cut-off time is 32 hours, with a WSER qualifying cut-off of 30 hours. Finishers receive a belt buckle, and those finishing under 30 hours earn a ticket for the WSER lottery.
- 100 Furlongs: This distance is 12.5 miles, consisting of a single, abbreviated loop based on the 100-mile course.
Event Details
The 100-mile race features six loops of the course. There are three fully staffed aid stations on the 100-mile loop, providing hot and cold food and beverages. Runners have access to drop bags after every loop. The 100-furlong race has two fully staffed aid stations. The course passes through Colt Creek State Park, where runners may spot wildlife such as alligators, otters, gopher tortoises, and fox squirrels.
Logistics
Packet pick-up for the 100-mile race is the day before the event. An optional pre-race meeting and dinner are also held that evening. For 100-furlong participants, bib and shirt pick-up is on race day. Several parking areas for runners and crew are designated within the park, each with specific rules regarding vehicle access, canopies, and open flames.
