Llantysilio Mountain Race

The Llantysilio Mountain Race is a fell running event set in the Dee Valley. The course is just over 6 miles long with 2100ft of ascent.

The Route

The route ascends to and follows the Llantysilio Mountain ridge. The final climb leads to the highest point, Moel y Gamelin, at 1893ft. Much of the race is around 1500ft, climbing to 2000ft.

Event Details

The race is organized by Tattenhall Runners and run under WFRA rules. Registration opens at 9am at the Conquering Hero pub in Rhewl. The race starts at 11am outside the Sun Inn. Parking at the race HQ is limited.

Mandatory Kit

Runners must be prepared to carry whole body waterproof cover, a hat, gloves, a whistle, and a compass. They are advised to take their own map. The race director will specify minimum clothing requirements on the day.

Participation

Entry is open to participants aged 18 or older. The event has a sweeper and marshals, but officials may cut runners from the race if concerned for the safety of runners or marshals on the hill. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
