Moel Famau 24
Moel Famau 24 is a timed endurance event held on the slopes of Moel Famau using a single loop of 5.8 km with approximately 400 m of ascent per lap. The course features ups, downs and varied terrain and is used repeatedly over either a 12 hour or 24 hour period, with competitors completing as many laps as possible in their chosen time category.
Entries are accepted for solo runners, walkers, pairs and teams. The event area includes a camp field where tents and vehicles can be located and support crews may operate from that area. At the end of each lap a peel-off from the dibbing area provides access to feed stations, toilets and covered rest areas for shelter and spare kit.
There is no minimum lap requirement and no cut off for participation; contestants may rest for any length of time during the event but must enter and exit the route through the correct entry and exit points so laps and times are recorded. If a participant is on course when a time category ends, the final lap is completed and the extra time is recorded for placement. Electronic timing and GPS tracking are used. Participants receive camping, electronic timing, GPS tracking, access to feed stations and toilets, and a finisher medal and certificate.
