Little Blackfoot

Little Blackfoot is a trail race near Elliston, Montana, listed under Helena, MT. The event offers two out-and-back distances that use Little Blackfoot River Road and adjacent trails, with routes that pass through meadow and creek crossings.

Distances:

• 15K - out-and-back to Blackfoot Meadows; finish at the start area.
• 30K - out-and-back to Blackfoot Meadows plus ascent via Kading Grade to the Continental Divide.

Both distances start near Kading Campground on Little Blackfoot River Road and begin together. Runners follow the road to its end, then drop onto the trail that leads to the Little Blackfoot Meadows trailhead. The trail includes two wooden bridges over a creek and continues up to Blackfoot Meadows, which serves as the turnaround point for both distances. After returning to the start/finish area, 15K runners finish while 30K runners continue through the start area, cross the road, and climb the Kading Grade trail to reach a route up to the Continental Divide before retracing to the finish.
